Booksmith › For driving instructors

Online booking for driving instructors

You're teaching all day.
Your diary answers for you.

Every text you answer at a junction is a lesson interrupted. Booksmith lets pupils book, move and cancel their own lessons within your rules, keeps weekly regulars locked in, and reminds the 8am starter the night before. You teach; the phone stays in the glovebox.

Every admin text costs a junction.
Every no-show costs a fortnight's fuel.

Instructor admin happens at red lights and after 9pm: rearranging Thursday, confirming Saturday, chasing the pupil who forgot. Booksmith moves all of it into a booking page pupils use themselves, with your hours, your notice period and your buffer between lessons baked in.

A teaching day with Booksmith

Back-to-back lessons, zero admin between.

  1. 06:45

The day's pupils in one email

Morning agenda: who, when, and the pickup details they gave at booking. The 8am got a reminder last night and another at seven, so they're on the doorstep.

  2. 10:55

A pupil moves Thursday without texting you

She opens the link in her confirmation email, sees your genuine availability, moves the lesson. Your calendar updates itself; her reminders reset to the new time.

  3. 15:00

A test pass frees a weekly slot

Cancel the repeat in two clicks; the slot reopens across coming weeks, and the learner on your waitlist gets an automatic message the moment it does.

What instructors actually use.

Weekly lessons that repeat

Set a pupil's regular slot to recur and it holds week after week, sending its own confirmations and reminders each time. Test passed? End the repeat in two clicks.

Lesson lengths, priced properly

One-hour, 90-minute and two-hour lessons each block the right amount of diary, with buffer time between pupils for the drive across town.

Pickup details at booking

Your booking form asks what you need: pickup postcode, licence held, previous experience. It's on the booking before you plan the route.

A notice period that protects tonight

Nobody books tomorrow 8am at midnight. You set how much warning a booking needs and how far ahead pupils can plan.

Reminders that beat the teenage memory

Evening-before and hour-before reminders, SMS if you want it. No-shows are tracked per pupil, so you know who needs a deposit.

Deposits for serial forgetters

Optionally take a card deposit at booking, for everyone or just for the services you choose. Fuel burned driving to an empty doorstep drops to zero.

Questions from instructors

Asked from the passenger seat, answered straight.

Can pupils have a fixed weekly lesson?

Yes. Recurring weekly bookings hold a pupil's slot indefinitely, each occurrence with its own confirmation and reminders. Moving one week's lesson doesn't disturb the rest.

Can pupils rearrange without ringing me?

Yes, within your rules. Their confirmation email carries a secure manage link where they can move or cancel, limited by your notice period, so a 6am cancellation for an 8am lesson isn't possible unless you allow it.

Can I block out test days and holidays?

Yes, in two clicks: a day, a half-day or specific hours. Pupils simply never see those times offered.

Does it handle block bookings of ten lessons?

Book the block as repeating weekly lessons in the admin. Payment for blocks stays however you take it today; if you want money at booking, per-lesson card deposits are built in.
